Upcoming Family Friendly June Events in Montrose

With the kids out of school and the Summer weather upon us it’s a terrific time to find some outdoor family activities to entertain the whole family. Here are a few of our favorite upcoming June events to mark on your calendars.
Black Canyon National Park is known for having some of the darkest and clearest skies in the country. On June 13th-16th the annual Black Canyon Astronomy Festival takes place at the South Rim Visitor Center and Campground. This four-day event includes astronomy guest speakers, solar programs, kid’s activities and special programs for astronomy fans of all ages.
On Saturday June 23rd grab your picnic blankets, lawn chairs and kids and head on over to Pocket Park on Main Street for Free Movie Saturday. This family friendly event begins at 7pm and will feature the movie The Sandlot. This is a free event and even comes with free popcorn.
